In his book ‘The Occult World’, Christopher Partridge discusses the development of ritual practices in cyberspace. Here are a few passages from the book..
“The innovative effect of cyberspace on ritual magic is clearly visible in the emergence of ritual practices in virtual reality.”
“Some magicians argue that the landscapes of virtual reality are not just similar to the experiences involved in magical techniques of astral travel but that the virtual ‘is’ the astral.”
“Occult and Pagan users have increasingly made it (Second Life) a place of virtual enchantment”.
The fact that more and more occult practitioners are turning to cyberspace to practice their craft indicates that such a reality can no longer be seen as being ‘virtual’ but instead, a practical and autonomous venue in the lower astral.
Below is an image of an ‘open air cyber temple’ of my own construction..

The four participants are avatars created in cyberspace and programmed to serve a ritualistic purpose. Twelve standing stones form a circle for events to take place. Although I made this for a PC screen, this venue is easily adapted to VR for use with a VR headset.
Rituals can be scripted which very much suits the ritual process.
